VBSNT respectfully invites all Buddhists, community members, and friends near and far to come to the temple and join the Thượng Nguyên Ceremony (First Full Moon of the Year) — one of the important celebrations that marks the beginning of the new year. We will also hold the Medicine Buddha Sutra Opening Ceremony to pray for peace, good health, and blessings in the year ahead.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at 10:00 AM.

In the peaceful and sacred atmosphere of the First Full Moon Day, we will gather together to pray for peace in the nation, harmony in the world, and happiness and well being for every family. This is also a meaningful opportunity to plant good seeds of merit for the new year, strengthen spiritual practice, and nurture positive connections.

Your presence will be a great encouragement and will help make the ceremony more warm, dignified, and complete.

Theme: Buddhist Books – Light for the Soul

On Saturday, November 1st, 2025, the Vietnamese Buddhist Society of the NT (VBSNT) will host our monthly meditation and Dharma practice day with the theme: “Meditation – Balancing Life and Nourishing Body & Mind.”

This month’s retreat is especially meaningful, as we are honoured to welcome H.E UGYEN DRODUL THINLEY KUNCHAB Rinpoche from Bhutan — on his first Dharma teaching visit to Darwin.

H.E UGYEN DRODUL THINLEY KUNCHAB Rinpoche will offer a Dharma talk at the International Buddhist Temple from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a teaching session for the Bhutanese community at Rydges Hotel – Palmerston from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

This is a rare and precious opportunity for all Buddhists and community members to meet, pay respect to, and receive teachings from a Tibetan Rinpoche — helping us open our minds and deepen our understanding of Vajrayana Buddhism.
